Dissolve my marriage, as I’m sex-starved, man pleads with judge

A man has pleaded with a customary court sitting in Ibadan to dissolve his marriage because his wife has starved him of sex for over two years of their seven-year marriage.
The petitioner, Mr. Wahab Olabamiji, had approached the court seeking the dissolution of his marriage because his wife, Tawakalitu, denied him of sex.
Wahab, who lives at Olopo-Meta Estate, Ibadan, had petitioned the court that his wife was endangering his life with her extramarital relationships.
“Tawakalitu has remained a source of frustration to me for two-and-a-half years now, denying me sex.
“In addition, Tawakalitu is heavily involved in adulterous acts and I have caught her many times.
“Worse still, she has been having grudges with my children from my first wife. She doesn’t want to see them, and she has not hidden her hatred for them.
“I no longer want to have anything to do with her; please, separate us,” Wahab urged the court.
In her response, Tawakalitu agreed to the divorce and did not deny the allegation of sexual starvation leveled against her.
The respondent, a trader, however, said that she was acting on medical advice.
“My lord, a nurse told me that I could contract disease by continually allowing Wahab to sleep with me since he also sleeps with an old woman who is already in her menopause.

“The nurse said that the only option I had was to stop sleeping with Wahab.
“For two-and-a half years now, no man has touched me,” Tawakalitu said.
Delivering his ruling, President, Mapo Customary Court in Ibadan, Mr. Ademola Odunade, on Friday dissolved the couple’s seven-year marriage on the grounds of sex starvation.
Odunade said the marriage was dissolved because the estranged couple was resolute in their decision to part ways.
He granted custody of the two children produced by the union to Tawakalitu and ordered Wahab to pay a monthly allowance of N6,000 for the children’s upkeep.

A seemingly healthy woman's sudden death is now the first known US coronavirus-related fatality, LA Times reports

First Covid-19 death was earlier than previously thought

A seemingly healthy 57-year-old Bay Area woman who "suddenly died" in early February has now become the first known US death related to coronavirus, the Los Angeles Times reported Wednesday.
Patricia Dowd, who worked as a manager for a semiconductor company, "exercised routinely, watched her diet and took no medication," the newspaper reported.
Rick Cabello, Dowd's older brother, told CNN she didn't smoke and was in good health.
"She was an athlete in her high school days, she was always active," Cabello said. Her sudden death was a shock to family members. They all believed it was a heart attack, Cabello said.
The report came after Santa Clara County announced Tuesday that tissue samples confirmed two people who had died in early February tested positive for coronavirus. One victim, who the county said died on February 6, was described as a 57-year-old woman while the other was a 67-year-old man who died on February 17. The county did not provide any more details.
In a Wednesday news conference, Santa Clara County Department of Public Health Director Dr. Sara Cody said neither case had recent travel history that would have exposed them to the virus, and officials are presuming both cases represent community transmission.

Questions to ask, help deciding whether to move a parent to a care facility amid coronavirus

The infection count dipped in Ohio’s nursing homes, assisted living communities and long-term care facilities in the past week because the state revised its data after operators complained that authorities overcounted.
The Ohio Department of Health released its second weekly count in medical and senior living spaces of confirmed cases of COVID-19, the lung disease that can result from infection with the new coronavirus.
As of April 22, at least 781 cases occurred in 90 facilities in 23 counties, ODH reported. The total case count was 57 cases lower than the April 16 accounting.

After the April 16 release, many facility operators complained that every contact with county health departments about the virus, not just confirmed COVID-19 cases, was reported to the state, and ODH released those numbers.
Over the weekend, ODH took down the website for repairs. It went live again Wednesday. Some counts were updated significantly.

Toke Makinwa & Tacha? Ha! Think Again Blackmailers!

Toke Makinwa and Tacha just proved they’ve developed a thick skin to mischief makers who might want to tarnish their name by publishing ‘edited/false images’ of their nudes unless they pay them some attention.
It’s really so sad that blackmailers are going to this extent to extort people, especially the womenfolk. Just of recent, it was Nigeria’s foremost queen of fuji, Salawa Abeni and she gave her blackmailers a masterclass on how to kill negative energy.
According to Toke, she received an email, from someone stating that an unknown user sent her naked photos to be published on a website. She shared a screenshot of the mail she received, and the sender stated that the photos are yet to be published and they need a response from her. If not, they’ll assume she is cool with the photos going up on the internet.
Same goes for Big Brother Naija’s star, Tacha. It seems the same sender that’s responsible for the mail sent to Tacha.
But guess what! The photos aren’t even real.

Is this really how low we’ve become? I understand that things are hard, I get that feeding off each other and scamming people will be on the rise but I’ve never and would never negotiate with con artists/scammers. I am sharing this ahead of your threats to release these edited/false images cos this is disappointing, this is not humanity, there is a pandemic killing people and there’s also certain human beings wanting to exploit people in a time when we should all spread love and kindness. Stop with your bloody emails already 🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬. I am not the one, not yesterday, not today, not ever. I don’t have any money to give you.

Meanwhile, these are the real photos and she was all covered up.

PalmPay launches free Mobile Payments App money transfers and N100m+ COVID-19 Support Fund

Since launching in September 2019 under a Mobile Money Operator license granted by the Central Bank of Nigeria, PalmPay has become one of the fastest-growing financial services companies in Nigeria. Its app has gathered over 500,000 users and can be found in the top 5 in the finance category on both the Google Play Store and the iOS App Store.

PalmPay, one of Nigeria’s fastest-growing mobile payments companies, today announced the creation of a N100,000,000 fund to support Nigerians in the fight against the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.

The money will be used to support relief organizations working to address the outbreak of the novel coronavirus in the country, as well as to fund the provision of an innovative COVID-19 cover for its entire customer base.

Mobile Payments App PalmPay launches free money transfers and N100m+ COVID-19 Support Fund
Under the original scheme, every transacting PalmPay customer can qualify for a N100,000 payout from the PalmPay Support Fund should they be diagnosed with COVID-19. The intention is to provide a financial cushion to its user base and help Nigerians who are affected by the virus get back on their feet.

More money will be added to the fund every time a transaction is made on the app for the duration of the campaign, and information about the fund is transparently updated in real-time on the PalmPay app. The campaign has been branded #PalmPayCares and is due to run for an initial month-long period.

“We are proud to be launching this campaign to offer our support to our community of users and organizations on the front line of the response to the pandemic”, said Greg Reeve, Global PalmPay CEO. “We want our customers to know that we are there for them through these uncertain times and that they can be a part of relief efforts too as we will add to the fund every time they transact on the PalmPay app.”

Other key measures being announced today are designed to ease the financial burden on Nigerian consumers and help them as they try to minimize their risk of exposure to the virus.

PalmPay is removing all money transfer charges from its service, making it free to transfer money from its wallet to other PalmPay users and Nigerian bank accounts for any amount.

Moreover, the licensed Mobile Money Operator has completed integration into NIBSS’s NIP list, which now makes it possible for anyone to send money to a PalmPay wallet straight from their online banking app.

Users can also deposit to their PalmPay wallets free of charge using their ATM cards within the app, and will benefit from a N100 incentive every week for depositing at least N1000 with either method.

“Using digital payment methods is one of the ways people can protect themselves and others from the virus, which can attach itself to cash and other surfaces.”, explains Reeve “Our aim with these initiatives is to make that as easy and affordable as possible, and offer Nigerians a rewarding way to make payments through PalmPay.”

PalmPay offers Nigerians a range of financial services via its mobile app, including transfers, airtime and bill payment. With a tagline of “The Payment App That Rewards You”, the company’s USP of offering cashback and discounts to its customers has established the mobile payments service as a favorite among millennial consumers.

Users can earn up to N20,000 a month in cash back in the form of PalmPoints that can be used to carry out transactions on the app. Other incentives include a N300 referral reward for each new friend that existing customers introduce to PalmPay, a multi-level marketing programme to provide further rewards for regular referrers, and a “Lucky Money” game that can be played after each transaction with prizes including discount coupons and more PalmPoints.

US Senate passes new $484b Coronavirus relief package for small businesses, hospitals and Covid-19 testing

The US Senate has approved about $484 billion in new coronavirus aid for small businesses, hospitals, and testing, making it the US' second economic relief package since the Coronavirus pandemic started if signed into law.

The agreement, made after weeks of negotiation and disagreements between Republican and Democratic Lawmakers was passed by a voice vote after agreements were made on Sunday and Monday.

The deal will include an additional $310 billion for the Paycheck Protection Program (PPP), $60 billion specifically for community banks and smaller lenders, as well as $75 billion for hospitals, $25 billion for testing, and $60 billion for emergency disaster loans and grants.
U.S. Senate unanimously recognises Armenian Genocide | Ahval

Sen. Rand Paul (Republican-Kentucky) said he opposed the funding but would not block its passage because more bailouts will increase America's annual deficit.

Senator Rand is the only senator who has been infected with the coronavirus.

"The virus bailouts have already cost over $2 trillion. Our annual deficit this year will approach $4 trillion. We can't continue on this course. No amount of bailout dollars will stimulate an economy that is being strangled by quarantine," Paul said from the Senate floor on Tuesday.

The House of Reps is expected to pass the bill on Thursday morning, with members returning to Washington for a recorded vote.

US President Trump threw his support behind the relief package on Tuesday.
"I urge the Senate and House to pass the Paycheck Protection Program and Health Care Enhancement Act with additional funding for PPP, Hospitals, and Testing," Trump tweeted.
